Chronology of cameras Compco

Compco is better known for its amateur cinema accessories than for its cameras. The geographic proximity to manufacturers in Chicago might suggest subcontracting.

The Compco Miraflex, Miraflex de Luxe, Reflex I and Reflex II all seem to be built from the same base. Comparing the various catalogs that feature them, it appears that there are two successive generations: Reflex, then Miraflex (starting in 1953), and that within each generation, there are two levels of equipment: meniscus lens (Reflex I and Miraflex) or doublet lens (Reflex II and Miraflex de Luxe). Everything else is just a matter of decoration.

On all these models, a bulb flash can be screwed onto the side.
